The latest season of Below Deck Down Under has been rife with interpersonal drama, notably the unexpected fallout between deckhand Harry Van Vliet and head chef Tzarina Mace-Ralph. Once close colleagues, their relationship has soured, culminating in Tzarina blocking Harry on Instagram.

 

During a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Harry revealed to host Andy Cohen that Tzarina had blocked him on social media. He attributed this to his concerns over her critical comments about fellow crew members, which he perceived as bordering on bullying. Despite their past camaraderie, Harry expressed disappointment over the situation, emphasizing his stance against such behavior. 

 

The tension isn’t isolated to Harry and Tzarina. Tzarina’s leadership style has come under scrutiny from other crew members as well. Chief Stew Lara Rigby criticized Tzarina for not nurturing her sous chef, Alesia, suggesting that Tzarina’s approach was more confrontational than supportive. This sentiment was echoed during a crew night out, where Lara confronted Tzarina about making her feel undermined, leading to a heated exchange. 

 

Further complicating matters, Tzarina’s relationship with her former sous chef, Anthony Bird, was fraught with tension. Anthony expressed frustration over being relegated to cleaning duties, feeling underutilized in the kitchen. Tzarina, in turn, felt disrespected by his complaints and lack of communication, especially after discovering he had accepted another job without informing her. 

 

These interpersonal conflicts have not only affected individual relationships but have also impacted the overall crew dynamics aboard the yacht. As the season progresses, viewers are left wondering whether these rifts can be mended or if they will continue to escalate.
